MEDIEVAL LYRIC POETRY

Poetry traditional provencal. Jarchas. Moaxajas. Zejeles. Cantigas. Mester of Clergy and juglaria.
During almost all of the medieval times, written culture was cultivated by clerics, and exclusively in latin. The people, in contrast, sang in the new european languages a series of songs fiesta, love or work. Most of this poetry has been lost, to be anonymous and traditional, although we have reached some remnants, mostly in the Iberian peninsula..
The poetry spanish medieval covers four centuries. This represents a considerable amount of texts of different kinds: poetry narrative, lyrical almost provencal texts castellanos written in arabic characters – aljamiado, etc.

The poetry lirica medieval spanish is divided into popular and educated. The popular was fresh and naive and cutting little scholar. His verse was short-term or art minor. The poetry had a pitch aristocratic and courtier and revolved around to love. His verse was long or art increased and its verses were more complex.
